UPD The detained woman was jailed for ten days. OVD-Info was told this by an acquaintance of hers.

“Russians need connectivity! No to blocking Telegram.” A Maoism supporter was detained in Chelyabinsk over a banner

Security officers came to the young woman’s home today at around 6:45 a.m. An acquaintance of hers, also a supporter of Maoism, told OVD-Info about this.

She was taken to a police station. According to the acquaintance, officers drew up a report against her there over an unauthorized public action (Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

After that, the detained woman was taken to the Kurchatovsky District Court.

At around 10 a.m., security officers also came to the home of the woman’s acquaintance who had contacted OVD-Info.

They threatened him with a police-disobedience report (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) if he did not open the door, but in the end they left. Security officers also came to his mother’s workplace and demanded that she influence her son. In addition, through the detained woman, police conveyed that he could face arrest.
