The FSB reported detaining in Dagestan the “administrator of the largest international terrorist network.” He turned out to be a 17-year-old teenager. He is accused of leading two terrorist cells at once — the organization “Maniacs. Cult of Killers” (“M.K.U.”) and the “Columbine” movement, both recognized as terrorist and banned in Russia.

The security service claims that he administered resources with an audience of 200,000 people, including 5,000 active participants. The FSB believes the teenager was also involved in organizing at least 15 terrorism-related crimes in ten Russian regions, each of which, according to the agency, was prevented.

“The perpetrators, who received financial and organizational support from the SBU, planned mass killings, carried out arsons, and spread false reports about schools being mined in various cities in Russia and the CIS. Some members of the groups operated in the West and planned terrorist attacks in Washington on U.S. Independence Day,” Kommersant quotes the FSB statement as saying.
