In June, the Pilot festival was held in Ivanovo, as usual. Nineteen film critics agreed among themselves to publicly assign scores to the festival premieres. However, 12 experts refused to rate one project.

It was “Marik” — a drama by Yegor Beroev about a war participant who returns from Ukrainian captivity to destroyed and occupied (but, according to the series, actively reviving) Mariupol and gets a job there as an ambulance doctor.

When the critics published the table with scores, Z-bloggers were outraged by Marik’s low results — they began writing about the experts’ bias and accusing them of “Russophobia.”
