Putin authorized the Defense Ministry and the National Guard to electronically obtain civil registry data on service members, employees, and their family members

Vladimir Putin signed a law allowing the Defense Ministry, its territorial bodies, and commanders of military units to receive information on the state registration of civil status acts from the Unified State Civil Registry in electronic form.

The same powers have been granted to the National Guard and the heads of its military units, organizations, institutions, and bodies.

As follows from the document, the Defense Ministry will be able to obtain the information needed for military registration, as well as for the “provision of social guarantees and compensation to service members, civilian personnel of the Armed Forces, citizens discharged from military service, and members of their families.”

The National Guard, as stated in the text of the law, will be able to use the information to provide social guarantees and compensation to service members, employees with special police ranks, civilian personnel, citizens discharged from service, and members of their families.

🔵The law enters into force today. Volodin said that the law is intended to optimize support for military personnel and their families “without paper red tape.”
