Center “E” officers will spend two months searching for “radically minded youth” in St. Petersburg shopping malls, says Ostorozhno, Peterburg

This follows from a fragment of a document by the relevant city commission that Ostorozhno, Peterburg drew attention to.

According to it, in August and September employees of the city social programs center “Kontakt,” together with representatives of the regional Center “E,” will conduct raids in places where minors and young people gather, in particular in shopping malls.

They plan to identify “radically minded youth” by “distinctive external attributes in clothing” and accessories that may be associated with “informal antisocial groups.” The stated goal of the raids is to involve teenagers in “preventive deradicalization work and constructive socialization.”

🔵The report by the relevant commission states, according to Ostorozhno, Peterburg, that in the first half of 2026 the number of crimes committed by teenagers in the city rose by 26%, to 339. Nearly half of them are classified as serious or especially serious.
