Tuapse authorities promise to clean oil off the beaches by the start of summer

Tuapse will be ready to receive tourists during the resort season, said municipal district head Sergey Boyko. The city beach, which was affected by an oil product spill after Ukrainian drone attacks, will be cleaned up by June 1, the official promised.

"Of course, there will be a season. Our district's coastline is about 90 kilometers. What happened on one beach will in no way affect the other beaches. And we will put this beach in order by June 1, and people who come specifically to our city will be able to use it," Boyko said on the Solovyov Live program.

He also claims that against the backdrop of the oil product spill in Tuapse, the authorities did not record an abnormal surge in people going to hospitals. According to Boyko, "Western TV companies and bloggers" are spreading false information about the situation in the city.

Since mid-April, Ukraine has struck Tuapse four times. The main targets were the local oil refinery and the marine terminal, which forms a single complex with the refinery. Because of the fires, the city experienced "oil rain" several times, and oil product spills were found in the river and the sea.
