Muscovites are being forced to book appointments to obtain foreign passports through the state messenger Max

As The Moscow Times writes, since mid-June it has been possible to submit an application for a foreign passport through the mos. ru portal only with the help of the “My Documents” chatbot in Max.

Those wishing to submit an application have access to only one button: “fill out the form,” and it offers the only filling option — in the chatbot. Without this, it is impossible to proceed to the next stage and book an appointment at an MFC.

It remains possible to fill out a foreign-passport application form on the Gosuslugi portal, but there are almost never available slots there for submitting an application at an MFC or a police department.
