Rostec released a souvenir amid internet shutdowns in Russia: it is a radio receiver from the Great Patriotic War era

Roselektronika, a holding company owned by Rostec, recently released the souvenir VHF receiver "SEVER," which imitates an original radio set from the time of the Great Patriotic War.

The souvenir was advertised with a video containing the following words:

When you can't keep up with the news, find out the weather forecast. When you feel cut off from the whole world and there is no internet connection, you remember what is always there — the "Sever" radio station.

In a historical article about the radio station, Rosel writes that ahead of the May holidays the receiver takes on "special symbolic meaning," reminding people of the "importance of communications during the war years."
