Russian authorities have come up with a new way to drag even more migrants into the “SVO” by tightening the screws even further.

The Russian State Duma is preparing to adopt a draft law on the mandatory expulsion of migrants with no alternative under 20 additional articles of the administrative code, including petty hooliganism, participation in a rally, and “propaganda of banned symbols.” The new rules mean that expulsion from Russia will become the main and mandatory form of punishment instead of a fine. But there is one exception: all of this will not apply to foreigners who serve in the Russian army.

Simply put, the typical “con” used by Russian security forces, “sign a contract or we’ll deport you,” will be legalized. For the slightest offense, foreign citizens will be confronted without appeal with a choice: being sent to war or being expelled from the Russian Federation. This is outright blackmail at the state level!

The amendments to the administrative code very neatly complement the plan for recruiting foreigners on contract handed down from above to Russian regions. A systematic state approach is visible in the search for resources to continue Putin’s “show” at any cost, while avoiding the announcement of a new mobilization.

☝️We strongly urge the governments of countries whose citizens Russia is actively recruiting, primarily the states of Central Asia and Africa, to step up work on informing their citizens who are in the Russian Federation or planning to visit it. The mortal danger threatening them is not an empty phrase.
