The Russian army killed 40 civilians who were sheltering in a school in the village of Kamyshevakha in Zaporizhzhia region. Another 34 people are listed as missing.

Russian troops carried out the strike on November 2, dropping nine guided FAB-3000 aerial bombs, weighing 3 tonnes each, on the center of the village. The Russians had already destroyed the school building in 2023. After that, an underground school was built in the village so children could study without fear of shelling. Civilians also sheltered there during air raid alerts.

This horrific footage from a local police officer’s body camera shows civilians descending into the shelter after an alert is announced, followed by Russian bombs hitting it and killing the people inside.

As usual, the Russians immediately boasted about the war crime: they published footage of the strike, calling the school a “temporary deployment point of the 128th Brigade.” But the body-camera footage shows that it was simply a school where civilians were sheltering.

Every day, Russia kills more civilians than died over several years in Donbas before the full-scale invasion. The goal of Putin’s regime is the genocide of Ukrainians on this land, which the Kremlin calls “liberation.”
