China does not want a meeting with Putin and Trump that would “end in nothing,” a Nest expert believes
A meeting of the three leaders would not benefit China if it failed to produce a result, as it would make the country look like a weak diplomatic partner, China expert Alexey Chigadaev of the Nest think tank said on TV Rain.
In his view, Putin is currently more interested in the meeting, because China has already arranged separate meetings with both him and Trump.
China simply does not want to arrange a meeting that will end in nothing,
the expert said.
For Russia, he believes, the meeting is “purely a PR exercise”; Ukraine will not be the main topic.
