The CEO of the Krasnoyarsk plant that manufactures Sarmat missiles has been detained

In Krasnoyarsk, Aleksandr Gavrilov, the general director of the Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Plant (Krasmash), who has headed the enterprise since 2018, has been detained. NGS24 reported his detention, citing a source.

According to RIA Novosti, Gavrilov has been in pretrial detention since late April in an embezzlement case.

The Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Plant is one of the largest enterprises in Russia’s defense-industrial complex and is part of the state corporation Roscosmos. The plant manufactures the RS-28 Sarmat strategic missile system with an intercontinental ballistic missile. In April 2026, the plant was placed under European Union sanctions.
