The U.S. has extended the authorization for the sale of Russian tanker-shipped oil, which expired on April 11.


And this comes TWO DAYS after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent PUBLICLY stated that the license had expired and that there would be NO new sanctions relief. Phenomenal consistency!


The new authorization is valid through May 16 inclusive.


At least now we have learned that decisions in the Trump administration are made by the “he loves me, he loves me not” principle.
