More than 400 Ukrainian drones attacked Russian regions. An oil refinery is burning in Saratov, and the Proton plant in Oryol

The Proton-Electrotex plant in Oryol caught fire after an attack by Ukrainian forces, the publication Astra determined through an OSINT analysis of eyewitness footage. The plant produces electronic components and has previously come under Ukrainian attack on several occasions.

Oryol region Governor Andrey Klychkov confirmed an attack on a facility in Oryol’s Sovetsky district, but did not say which plant had been hit. He said that “as a result of repelling a massive enemy missile attack, the facility’s production premises were partially damaged.”

In the Saratov region, “civilian infrastructure facilities” were damaged in the attack, Governor Roman Busargin said. According to Astra’s analysis, the facility in question is a Rosneft oil refinery. The publication also writes that one of the drones flying toward the refinery exploded near an auto parts store.

Overnight, air defense forces intercepted or destroyed a total of 411 drones over the Bryansk, Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Rostov, Saratov, Samara and Tula regions, the Republic of Crimea, and the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea, Russia’s Defense Ministry reports.
