The Hermitage has canceled all archaeological expeditions in Crimea
Historian Alexander Butyagin, who heads the expedition in Kerch, told Rotonda about this.
The outlet notes that as recently as mid-May, it was assumed that the Myrmekion expedition in Kerch (these excavations in Crimea are conducted by the Hermitage) would take place. However, several days ago, a message appeared in the expedition group saying the work was being postponed "due to the worsening situation."
Instead of annexed Crimea, volunteers are now being invited to excavations in the Kuban area, since it is easier to get there.

Dig Site Loses to Current Conditions
The Hermitage canceled Crimea digs and redirected volunteers to the Kuban.
History was easier to reach than reality again.
