Gasoline canisters have sharply risen in price on marketplaces. Against the backdrop of the fuel crisis, some models have gone up tenfold

Prices for the most popular 20-liter gasoline canisters, both plastic and metal, are rising rapidly on marketplaces, Mozhem Obyasnit noted. The price spike is happening at the same time as the number of regions where gasoline is being dispensed with restrictions is growing.

🔺The 20-liter Ekstrim-S expedition plastic canister cost 3,000 to 3,700 rubles at the end of April, and by the end of June had risen to 4,900 to 5,000. Some models gained more than 60%.

🔺The 20-liter Oktan plastic canister rose in price from 3,000 to 5,000-6,500 rubles, while some listings nearly tripled. The steepest price surge was for a 3ton canister: back in April it was selling for 1,500 rubles, and now it costs 16,000.

🔺The price growth is also being accompanied by frantic demand. Sales of 20- and 30-liter canisters in June rose by about 60%, and the containers themselves began to be actively bought up not only by motorists but also by resellers hoping to profit from the shortage.

🔺In several regions, authorities have already restricted the sale of fuel into canisters or introduced limits on gasoline sales, trying to contain panic and prevent people from building home stockpiles.

✈Russia's fuel crisis worsened after a series of attacks on oil refineries and a reduction in gasoline production. According to analysts' estimates, refining volumes fell by 15-20%, while fuel prices are rising at a record pace for the past two decades.
