Putin will increase the size of the Federal Protective Service central office for the fourth time during the war. Before 2022, it had not been expanded for almost 13 years

Vladimir Putin will increase the size of the central office of the Federal Protective Service (FSO) for the fourth time since 2022, and for the first time in almost 13 years this will happen not at the beginning or the end, but in the middle of the year, Vyorstka noted.

The relevant draft presidential decree has been published on the portal of draft нормативно-правовых acts and is supposed to come into force as early as July 1. According to the text, the maximum number of military personnel and federal civil servants in the FSO central office should rise from the current 785 people to 812.

During the war period, decrees expanding the central office were adopted either at the end or at the beginning of the year. On December 31, 2022, Vladimir Putin increased the maximum number of military and civilian staff in the central office from 725 to 760 people. Then, in January 2024, he prescribed two increases at once: from January 1, 2024, to 775 people, and from January 1, 2025, to 785 people.

Before the start of the war in Ukraine, Putin and Dmitry Medvedev, who held the presidency from May 7, 2008, to May 7, 2012, had not expanded the FSO central office for almost 13 years.

🟪The first task listed among the powers of the Federal Protective Service is the personal protection of the president, members of his family, and the prime minister.
