Remains of sailors found aboard tanker attacked by drones off Romania’s coast
The district prosecutor’s office in the Bulgarian city of Varna reported the discovery.
The remains were found as debris was being cleared at the ship repair yard where the vessel was taken in early November.
The prosecutor’s office has ordered DNA testing. According to the office, there were no Bulgarian citizens among the crew.
The investigation is also continuing in Romania.
The prosecutor’s office did not name the vessel, but media reports say it was the San Marino-flagged chemical tanker Wine Trader, which was attacked by drones on October 15. Five of the 12 crew members were rescued, while seven went missing.
