Young people detained near Kitay-Gorod were handed draft notices and offered contracts to sign

The outlet Ostorozhno, Novosti reported this.

“They bring them in 10 at a time, hand out draft notices and take them away,” witnesses claimed.

One witness said that everyone over 18 who was detained was repeatedly urged in the police van to sign a contract with the Defense Ministry.

Those taken to the Tagansky district police station said officers detained people who were “dressed unconventionally.”

According to one person released from the same police station and his mother, Interior Ministry officers allegedly told them that such raids regularly take place in the city center and are connected to “the situation in the country.” They also said teenagers should avoid the city center, “especially on weekends.”

🔵During a November 7 raid near Moscow’s Kitay-Gorod metro station, security officers detained more than 100 people near Gorka Park, in courtyards, and outside bars and cafés. Detainees were “shoved, dragged around and forced into a police van.” Some were minors.

They were later released from police stations.

At least 17 of those detained were cited for drinking alcohol in public after the raid; fines were also issued for appearing in public while intoxicated and disobeying police orders.

The Interior Ministry confirmed to the Moscow news agency that a “preventive operation” had taken place, aimed at “ensuring public order and preventing and suppressing administrative offenses, including those involving the consumption of alcoholic beverages in public places.”

🔵Since early July 2026, security officers have regularly detained young people near Kitay-Gorod metro station, a popular gathering place for members of various subcultures, many of them minors.

🔵Officers have frequently used force during detentions — for example, in July, while streamer Vitaly, who goes by ya\\dalb\\b, was walking near Kitay-Gorod, a passerby advised him not to go any farther because “they’re about to take him away.”
