Putin called "strengthening defense" one of the priorities of Russia's budget for the next three years

Putin said this during a meeting with State Duma deputies.

I am confident that when working on the budget for the coming three-year period, alongside strengthening the country's defense, the priority will be solving the most urgent social tasks and at the same time supporting key sectors of the economy, leading domestic companies, small and medium-sized businesses, as well as the labor market,

he said.

In Putin's view, Russia is "confidently overcoming artificial barriers that are being created from outside" and is setting "big, ambitious goals in terms of improving people's well-being." Here, according to him, "we have something to be proud of."

He said that State Duma deputies had "fully justified the high status of people's representatives," declaring that the "level of political culture" had risen.

During his speech, Putin also said that Russia plans to act "carefully, but persistently" in the war with Ukraine, and that the participants in the invasion are supposedly "supported by our entire people."

He compared the war to the economy, saying that "there are risks here, too, the price of which is losses on the battlefield on our side."
