Ukrainians and Belarusians accused of organizing rallies at Russia’s instruction detained in Poland
Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW), together with the Border Guard, detained nine Ukrainian citizens and two Belarusian citizens. They will soon be deported from the country.
As the ABW reports, since the autumn of 2025 the detainees had been recruiting and paying participants in demonstrations of Ukrainian refugees living in Poland.
The protesters were paid for their participation, and according to the ABW, the funds for this came from the Russian Federation.
According to the agency, the organizers’ goal was to gradually exert influence over the Ukrainian refugee community in Poland and use this group to promote political slogans.
Emotional issues were used to trigger the protests, including corruption scandals and current developments in Ukraine’s domestic politics, the ABW reports:
This is an example of actions aimed at undermining public trust, stoking tensions, and using people fleeing war as instruments of Russian influence operations.
