Peskov says Lukashenko did not pass any messages from Zelensky to Putin

Peskov commented on the meeting between Putin and Lukashenko at Valdai. Asked whether Lukashenko serves as a communication channel with Kyiv for Moscow, given reports about Lukashenko’s meeting in Minsk with representatives of Zelensky’s office, Peskov answered as follows:

In order for those existing channels to work and function, they must remain in the shadows. They must remain non-public. Therefore I will not answer your question. But of course, the topic of Ukraine was on the agenda

Peskov also said that Lukashenko did not pass on to Putin any messages from Zelensky.

As for the meeting itself between Putin and Lukashenko at Valdai, Peskov said it was “informal communication,” so there was no coverage of its results. According to him, the conversation was “highly substantive.”

Putin and Lukashenko discussed issues of “regional security,” “escalatory tension from some European countries,” and “attempts to provoke Belarus,” Peskov said.
