Murmansk authorities confirm total inspections of all cars heading toward the city

Yesterday, former coordinator of Navalny’s headquarters Violetta Grudina wrote that on the R-21 Kola highway before Kandalaksha, in the direction of Murmansk, a traffic jam several kilometers long had formed.

Citing subscribers, Grudina said that “trucks were being searched thoroughly and with dogs,” the internet stopped working immediately after entering the region, and the measures were allegedly connected with a “search for saboteurs.”

Today, Murmansk’s operational headquarters reported that inspections of all vehicles traveling toward Murmansk are indeed taking place on the Kola highway. The authorities called the inspections planned and regular and did not disclose the reasons:

Law enforcement officers are working for you. By stopping cars, they are making sure that the roads of our region remain calm and protected for everyone.
