Murmansk Region authorities begin inspecting all vehicles on the Kola highway

As reported by the Murmansk operational headquarters, a routine mandatory inspection of all vehicles traveling toward Murmansk is underway near Kandalaksha on the federal Kola highway.

Locals write that cars are being thoroughly inspected, including rooftop cargo boxes.

The R-21 Kola highway links St. Petersburg with Murmansk and passes through Karelia and Murmansk Region. The section near Kandalaksha is in the south of the region, on the way to Murmansk.

A Highway Sealed With Suspicion

Near Kandalaksha, every car heading to Murmansk gets searched.
