Forbes columnist Melik Kaylan believes that the Russian president has found himself in one of the gravest crises of the entire full-scale war.

"The loss of trust leads to the loss of legitimacy in a despotic regime," Kaylan writes.

The author allows for several scenarios for Putin’s departure from power, from a palace coup to a show trial, which would make it possible to shift responsibility for the consequences of the war onto one man.

But that’s not a fact.
