Vorkuta’s city-forming enterprise, Vorkutaugol, announced a cut in production and a refusal to fulfill the collective agreement with miners, which provided for a whole range of significant benefits for the miners.

The company explains this by a crisis in the industry:

➖A key buyer has been lost: Severstal

➖Processing capacities are being shut down, including enterprises in the occupied territories

➖Some counterparties have not paid for deliveries

➖There is a surplus of coal on the market and prices are falling

➖A strong ruble is reducing export revenues

At the same time, just six months ago the enterprise extended the collective agreement with social guarantees through 2028.

Additionally, the company threatened that protesting is not allowed any "speculation" about the situation would be regarded as an attempt at destabilization and could attract the interest of law enforcement agencies.
