Khinshtein orders Kursk officials to replace their social media avatars with photos of World War II participants

At a government meeting, Kursk region governor Alexander Khinshtein instructed officials to change their social media avatars to photographs of their relatives who took part in World War II as early as this week. That, he said, would express “boundless respect” for veterans.

Khinshtein also proposed holding the “Immortal Regiment” campaign in a different format, since the march itself will not take place in Kursk:

It seems to me very right when photographs of relatives are displayed in the windows of institutions and various organizations.

In the regional administration, we will do this as a matter of course. I think we will also do this in all regional executive authorities.

🔵There will be no mass events in the Kursk region on May 9. In the regional center, as last year, only songs from the war years will be played in public spaces and parks.
