Russia plans to charge a percentage on the distribution of foreign films in order to finance domestic films

Nikita Mikhalkov told TASS this:

This will be serious help for our cinematography, because a percentage from the distribution of foreign films will go toward refinancing domestic cinema.

In addition, an “entry ticket” will be paid simply so that a specific foreign film will be considered, so that it can make it onto the screen.

As Mikhalkov noted, the percentage will be determined by “experts in the economic sphere.”
