Cosmetic brand CHA U KAO fined under the “LGBT propaganda” law over an ad featuring blogger Alexey Zhidkovsky

A court found NUOLAB, the company that created the CHA U KAO brand, guilty of “LGBT propaganda” online and sentenced it to a 2.5 million ruble fine, reports Mediazona.

The grounds for the administrative cases were product cards posted on Wildberries and Ozon. The protocol states that the product cards carried a 12+ age rating.

🔵The CHA U KAO brand was created in late 2022. In February 2026, the company said that blogger Alexey Zhidkovsky became the ambassador for its lip gloss line. In April of last year, pro-government activists demanded that Zhidkovsky himself be investigated for “LGBT propaganda.”
