Russians consider the “SMO” the biggest problem at the moment, and an overwhelming majority of Russians support ending the war as soon as possible.

The share of people who want the war to end “as early as tomorrow” has reached its highest level since the start of the full-scale invasion, at 81%. This indicates that serious changes are taking place in Russian society’s mood regarding the war and its impact on everyday life, reports the Institute for Conflictology and Analysis of Russia (ICAR).

In addition, according to the organization’s sociological survey, 33% of respondents named the war with Ukraine as the most pressing problem today. Second and third place in Russians’ anti-ranking are low wages and high prices, at 24% and 18% respectively. That is not surprising, since 74% of respondents already say that one of their relatives or acquaintances is taking part or has taken part in the “SMO”! For 31%, it is someone from their own family.

And one more piece of bad news for Putin and his entourage: 73% of respondents would not support another wave of mobilization like the one in autumn 2022.

While the Kremlin grandpa continues to voice outright nonsense about the situation at the front and in the country, Russians are gradually but steadily ceasing to believe him, forming an attitude toward the war that differs from the “party line.” The realization that the “SMO” is going far from according to plan is starting to reach even the most hardcore “Z-patriots.”
