A man who killed a police officer and wounded three others has been detained in Orenburg Region.

“As a result of joint work by military investigators of the Investigative Committee, the territorial Investigative Committee, Rosgvardiya, the FSB directorate and operational police, the man was detained. With support from Rosgvardiya, an OMON engineering and inspection group, unmanned aviation and a Mi-8 helicopter were involved in the search,” the Investigative Committee said in a statement.

A criminal case is being investigated against the man: “unauthorized abandonment of a military unit during mobilization, encroachment on the lives of law enforcement officers, murder and attempted murder.”
