Russia’s antitrust agency issues a warning to Apple.

Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service has issued a warning to Apple.

The agency is demanding that it eliminate “discriminatory conditions” for Russian search engines and comply with the requirements for pre-installing domestic software on iOS devices.

The agency said that iPhones and iPads currently use a foreign search engine by default, while users have to change the settings manually to choose a Russian one. The FAS is also requiring Russian app store and the national messenger MAX to be pre-installed on devices.

Apple must comply with the demands by July 15. Otherwise, the FAS says it will open a case.
