Arsen Markaryan fined 20,000 for comparing Russians to animals
According to Ostorozhno, Novosti, this concerns an article on incitement of hatred or enmity. The reason for the punishment was Markaryan’s statements, a compilation of which appeared on social media shortly before his arrest. In them, he said that Russians are animals and pointed to their “underdevelopment.”
According to his lawyer, he made these statements in 2022, but prosecutors only took an interest in them three years later.
