The deputy head of Russia’s Spiritual Administration of Muslims was fined for paintings for the second time

This time, Damir Mukhetdinov was given a fine of 20,000 rubles under the article on inciting hatred, reported Ostorozhno, Novosti.

The reason for the case was two paintings in Mukhetdinov’s office: “The Capture of Vasily the Blind near Suzdal” and “Feast on the Kalka.” Photos of the paintings were posted on the website of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation after the mufti’s meeting with Muslims from Donetsk.

At the beginning of June, Mukhetdinov was fined 150,000 rubles under the article on desecration of religious objects because of a painting about the Battle of the Kalka River between Mongol and Russian troops in 1223.

In the spring, Russia saw a wave of detentions and arrests of muftis and other Muslim religious and public figures.
