Rapper Guf became a member of the New People party

Aleksei Dolmatov (the musician’s real name) joined the New People party.

As the party’s press service said, “idols of different generations” are joining New People in order to jointly promote “values important to young people and middle-aged people: openness and freedom.”

Guf was not included on New People’s lists for the State Duma elections, and he also did not come to the party congress. His party card was received instead by his sister. According to her, Dolmatov was unable to attend the congress because of “yesterday’s scheduled operation.”

What exactly the rapper will do in the party has not yet been specified.

💜Earlier, Verstka reported how New People became the Kremlin’s most successful political project of the 2020s.

Created six years ago as an experiment by the presidential administration, the party is doing what it was created for: collecting the votes of “dissatisfied citizens.” Officially, New People oppose internet blocking, prohibitive laws, and the growth of state levies.

However, today neither the party itself nor the Kremlin is happy about New People’s rising ratings. Why the Kremlin is thinking about how to reduce support for New People, read on Verstka’s website (with VPN):
