Defense Ministry: almost 64,000 Ukrainian drones were shot down by air defenses in the first half of 2026

At least 63,993 drones were shot down over Russia and the occupied territories, according to Defense Ministry data. May and June accounted for half of the total number of downed drones, 32,027 UAVs.

On average, according to calculations by Kommersant, air defense forces shot down 223 drones a day. The regions most often targeted by drone attacks were Belgorod, Kursk, and Bryansk regions, as well as annexed Crimea. The Moscow region ranks eighth by number of attacks.
