Lipetsk mayor and several Lipetsk region officials have signed contracts with the Defense Ministry

Lipetsk region governor Igor Artamonov reported that officials from his region will serve "as part of mobile fire groups":

Today my deputies, the mayor of Lipetsk, a number of ministers, and heads of municipal districts joined the mobilization reserve. They signed three-year contracts with the Ministry of Defense to serve as part of mobile fire groups. The task of these units is to protect the Lipetsk region and its residents from aerial threats. The team made this decision independently. I supported it.

According to him, over the next three months the officials will undergo special training and "combat coordination in field conditions":

After that, they will continue working in their main positions, but during training periods lasting up to two months they will take turns going on combat duty as part of mobile fire groups. The first group has already been formed. A number of other civil servants and employees of subordinate institutions are now undergoing testing and medical examinations.

He also said that "the region's security cannot be the task only of the military or law enforcement agencies" and added that "recruitment into the mobile groups is limited."
