The Eksmo-AST publishing house fired employees who refused to censor books

Company director Oleg Novikov said this in an interview with the program Vesti, as noted by Agentstvo.

"Some people could not continue working. We have employees who resigned. Some we ourselves dismissed because the person was not ready or, one could even say, did not want to comply with the requirements that legislation imposes today," he said.

Novikov noted that after the "publishers' case," the company "drew all the necessary conclusions," revised its instructions and lines of responsibility, and also "seriously tightened" its internal regulations.
