Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made this statement in a conversation with The Washington Post for a piece about how the Kremlin is intensifying pressure on anti-war politicians ahead of the elections amid Ukrainian attacks, economic problems, and Putin’s falling approval rating. The outlet Agentstvo drew attention to Peskov’s words.

🔵Ahead of the State Duma elections, candidates from the Yabloko party are facing pressure from the authorities. In St. Petersburg, for example, nearly half of them risk being barred from the elections because of allegedly missing documents. The candidates themselves claim they did not lose anything.

🔵As Agentstvo notes, more than ten party members have recently been punished under the article on displaying extremist symbols; being held liable under this article blocks their access to the elections.
