US senators agreed to support a bill on 100% tariffs for buyers of Russian oil
Senators from the Republican and Democratic parties have reached a bipartisan agreement on a bill introducing new sanctions against Russia.
It sets out agreements by both parties on what the final version of the document will be. A procedural vote will take place later on July 28.
The document gives the US president the authority to impose 100% tariffs on imports from countries that buy Russian oil, uranium, and natural gas or help evade sanctions.
