Georgian Oil Refinery to Stop Using Russian Oil


Georgia’s only oil refinery, Kulevi Oil Refinery in the port of Kulevi, will process oil "exclusively of non-Russian origin."


This is stated in a company announcement by Black Sea Petroleum, which operates the refinery.


The company’s CEO Davyd Potskhveriya had earlier said that it would stop using Russian oil and planned to replace it with supplies from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, Kommersant writes.


In February, the EU planned to impose sanctions on the oil terminal in Kulevi over shipments of Russian oil. Later, the European Commission said that the Georgian authorities had pledged not to allow Russia-linked tankers into their terminals.
