Russia is preparing to import a shipment of Japanese-made jet fuel, Reuters reports
Russia is preparing to import a shipment of Japanese-produced aviation fuel through a chain of traders, Reuters reports, citing three sources familiar with the situation.
According to two of the agency’s sources, at least 200,000 barrels of jet fuel are scheduled to be shipped from the Japanese city of Chiba in the first half of July.
The cargo will first be delivered to South Korea, then the fuel is expected to be transferred to another tanker, after which it will head to Russia.
According to data from the vessel-tracking service Kpler, the previous similar shipment took place back in February 2022: at that time, 22,000 barrels of jet fuel were sent from South Korea to Russia. The cargo was delivered to Vladivostok.
