A Russian man was detained in Belarus while trying to fly to Armenia. He had previously served five years in a penal colony over a comment about the bombing at the FSB building in Arkhangelsk

Kaluga resident Ivan Lyubshin was detained at Minsk airport, from where he was planning to fly to Armenia in order to emigrate to France. The man himself told OVD-Info about this.

He said that border guards handed him over to the local police. The next day, KGB officers took him to Russia, where he was detained by local security forces. It is reported that a criminal case was opened against Lyubshin for evading administrative supervision.

The man said that he had been approved for a French humanitarian visa and was supposed to pick it up at the French embassy in Yerevan.

A search was conducted at Lyubshin's home in the presence of FSB officers, and he was made to sign a pledge not to leave Kaluga Region. A petty hooliganism report was also drawn up against him for allegedly swearing in a public place. A court placed Lyubshin under arrest for 12 days.

🔵In 2020, Ivan Lyubshin was sentenced to five years and two months in a penal colony on charges of “justifying terrorism.” The reason was a comment in which he called 17-year-old Mikhail Zhlobitsky, who carried out the bombing in the FSB building, “the hero of the week at the very least.”
