Yekaterinburg city hall proposed handing over theaters and parks to military enlistment offices during mobilization

The city administration submitted the corresponding proposal to the Yekaterinburg City Duma, Ura.Ru reports.

It is reported that the authors of the proposal link it to the 1997 federal law on mobilization and want to bring "municipal acts into line with federal legislation."

According to the draft, city hall may receive the right to transfer "municipal property assets" to military commissariats free of charge. The outlet writes that this includes, among other things, cultural institutions such as theaters and the zoo, as well as city parks.

It is assumed that the military enlistment offices will receive these assets "without bidding and without charging a fee," and they will be used to house mobilization points and conduct military training.

The document states that city assets may be transferred to military enlistment offices "in accordance with mobilization plans" and "for the purpose of assisting mobilization work in peacetime," writes Novaya Gazeta.
