The European Union imposed sanctions on the developers of the poison used to poison Navalny

EU authorities added five Russian scientists and one military officer involved in the development of chemical weapons, including the poison epibatidine, to the sanctions list.

Those placed under restrictions were:

✹ Igor Babkin, head of a laboratory at the Signal Scientific Center,

✹ Sergey Galan, senior researcher at the Signal Scientific Center,

✹ Olga Yudina, senior researcher at the Signal Scientific Center,

✹ Alexey Aksenov, researcher at the Signal Scientific Center,

✹ Irina Derevyagina, employee of the State Scientific Research Institute of Organic Chemistry and Technology,

✹ Mikhail Gutsalyuk, colonel, head of the department for organizing scientific work at the Military Academy of Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense.

In February, the United Kingdom, Sweden, France, Germany, and the Netherlands said that Navalny had been poisoned in a Russian penal colony with epibatidine, a tree frog poison. Researchers who studied samples of the politician's biomaterials reached that conclusion independently of one another.
