Defendants in the case over preparing an attempt on Simonyan were sentenced to terms of up to 20 years

A court in Moscow sentenced defendants in the case on participation in the ultraright organization National Socialism/White Power (NS/WP) to prison terms ranging from six to 20 years.

A total of 12 people were charged in the case, two of them minors. They were accused of creating a terrorist organization and participating in its activities, robbery, hooliganism, calls for extremism, and inciting hatred and enmity.

Two defendants, Mikhail Balashov and Yegor Savelyev, were charged with preparing an attempt on RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan. They received 20 years and 15 years in prison, respectively.

Ostorozhno, novosti writes that after the sentence was announced, a conflict broke out between relatives of the convicted and journalists.
