Ukrainian drone raids are paralyzing Russian airports. Where are restrictions most often imposed because of drone threats?
In 2025, we studied Rosaviatsia data to understand how often restrictions were imposed at Russian airports because of the threat of Ukrainian drones. That analysis showed that for at least half of each month, air hubs were not operating normally.
Now we have updated the study using data from the same source and found that the situation has become even more critical. Now there is effectively not a single day without several major airports being shut down because of drone raids.
What does this statistic show? Does it match the pattern of flight cancellations and delays? And what other important factors are driving the degradation of Russia’s aviation industry?

Major Airports Now Close Like Clockwork
Now almost no day passes without major airports shutting down.
