A 61-year-old resident of Vyborg was released from the courtroom!
A court sentenced Oleg Mamporia to one year in a settlement colony over a comment saying “Glory to Ukraine,” but released him because he had already served the sentence (before that, he had been held in a pretrial detention center).
Prosecutors had initially requested three years in prison for Mamporia. In court, he was defended by OVD-Info lawyer Igor Skachko.
The criminal case was prompted by a comment in the chat of the Telegram channel “Vremya Sharikovykh.” According to law enforcement, Mamporia wrote “Glory to Ukraine.” The authorities linked the slogan to the Freedom of Russia Legion, which Russian officials have designated a terrorist organization.
The man was prosecuted under the article on repeated display of banned symbols or insignia.
