A military court in St. Petersburg sentenced Daniil Belousov, the son of political prisoner Oleg Belousov, to seven years in a penal colony under the article on “justifying terrorism,” RusNews reports. The case was heard behind closed doors.

Bumaga wrote that the grounds for prosecuting Belousov were his messages in the open chat “No to War.” He sent there photos from a pro-Ukrainian rally held outside the Moldovan parliament building in Chisinau. The chat is linked to the project “Media Partisans | No to War,” whose administrator, according to the prosecution, was Belousov.

Daniil Belousov is the son of St. Petersburg amateur archaeologist Oleg Belousov, who in 2023 received five years for VKontakte posts against Vladimir Putin and the war with Ukraine. The younger Belousov has cognitive impairments due to damage to the central nervous system. Before his detention, his father cared for him.
