In an interview with Fox News, answering the question of whether Crimea had "returned to the negotiating agenda," Zelensky said: "Unfortunately, no. Or not yet. But we’ll see."

Zelensky made the statement after talks in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and senators. American media wrote that during this trip, Zelensky appeared to have succeeded in convincing Washington that Ukraine can win the war.

Earlier, Zelensky repeatedly made it clear that although Ukraine will not legally recognize Russia’s annexation of Crimea, the question of its actual return to Ukrainian control can be resolved only through diplomatic means and only in the postwar future. Thus, in 2024, the Ukrainian president said: "We understand that for now we do not have the strength to push Putin back to the 1991 line with weapons in hand."
